Friday, November 27, 2026, 12:30pm-4:30pm, Seated & Strong CPTN/OFC MEMBER RATE

CA$174.00

This virtual workshop runs on Friday, November 27, 12:30pm-4:30pm EST on Zoom.

Problems facing Seated classes:

Seated fitness classes:

-are often seen as “less than” in comparison to classes where standing movement is included,

-are created only as a series of modifications to standing exercises,

-can be unintentionally made to feel like an afterthought, and

-are often missing balanced use of prime movers, inclusion of all planes of motion, as well as effective balance and core work.

There are so many folks who need seated options to be a part of programming, including people who move through the world on wheels, those who might be new to classes, those who are recovering from injury or illness, and many more.

Why do these problems exist?

Program design and class planning in fitness leadership training doesn’t regularly teach how to address the specific fitness needs of folks who sit to exercise.  While leaders do their best to create programming, very important training components can be overlooked.

The Solution:

Seated and Strong covers specific program design needs for seated exercisers including:

-A balance of all prime movers to ensure effective strength training workouts

-Consideration and inclusion of all planes of movement

-Dedicated core and balance training components

-Use of the progressive overload training principle

This session comes along with a lesson template for leaders to ensure all components are included AND are designed specifically for people who are seated.

Pre-approved for 4 CECs with CPTN and OFC.
